Gravity and Grace

Simone Weil·1947 (posthumous)·French

About this text

A posthumous compilation of Weil's notebooks, arranged by Gustave Thibon, built around the distinction between gravity (the natural, self-seeking pull governing most human motivation) and grace, received only through selfless attention.

All the natural movements of the soul are controlled by laws analogous to those of physical gravity. Grace is the only exception.
