Landshut
A Bavarian town on the Isar river where Ludwig Feuerbach was born in 1804, the son of a famous legal reformer, he would grow up to argue that theology is nothing but anthropology that has forgotten itself.
Landshut is a Bavarian town on the Isar with a brick church tower that was for centuries the tallest in the world. Feuerbach was born there in 1804, son of a jurist famous for reforming the criminal code. He studied theology, switched to Hegel in Berlin, and then took Hegel's system apart by turning it upside down. His claim was less that God does not exist than that the qualities we hand to God are our own, projected outward and then worshipped as something foreign.
